During the course of the design of the XXL guitars, we tried to
make a guitar “intelligently”. Since the entire instrument is made
by hand, we thought that it would be pleasing for our minds to make
the best possible guitar… here are the improvements we came up with.
We replaced the
masonite by hardwood plates, thereby improving the richness of
the sound, its “wooden” qualities;
We improved the
structural integrity of the instrument by making a one-piece
core instead of stapling pieces of wood together;
Hard maple
reinforcements are provided to solidly anchor the strap
pins;
We designed a
nice looking and very strong neck-joint;
We use metallic
inserts instead of plain screws to join the neck to the body,
thereby insuring the neck will always be securely mounted to the
body;
We designed a
wire channel to facilitate the installation of the pick-ups;
To facilitate the
electronic tweeking, if you should be so inclined, all the
electronic components may be replaced without the use of a
soldering iron;
The fretboard is
bookmatched, improving stability and appearance;
The electronic
cover plate matches the hardwood back since it is made directly therefrom;
